Hainan University International Business School achieves accreditation from the Business Graduates Association (BGA)

Hainan University International Business School has achieved accreditation from the BGA (Business Graduates Association), demonstrating its positive impact on students and society, against independent international quality standards.

Launched in January 2019, BGA, which is the sister organisation of the Association of MBAs (AMBA), is the only business school quality assurance organisation to offer candidate schools a middle ground between membership and full accreditation.

BGA accreditation is a gold-standard quality assurance achievement that is awarded to business schools that can clearly demonstrate an increasing impact on their students and communities over a measurable period, using BGA’s Continuous Impact Model (CIM), which assesses the improvement in impact across a range of metrics.

All undergraduates and alumni from any of the business school’s programmes are invited to join BGA’s individual membership network. Through both these organisations, students and graduates can strengthen a community that acts as a force for good in management thought and practice, through exclusive events and business content.

Hainan University is based in Haikou, the capital city of China’s tropical island province of Hainan. Hainan University International Business School was established in June 2023 through the merger of the Management School and School of Economics of Hainan University.The school has 7 departments: International Trade and Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management Science and Engineering, Agricultural & Forestry Economics and Management, and Economics. It has six undergraduate programmes and nine Master’s programmes.

Members of BGA’s accreditation panel, commended the high-level educational reputation of the University within Hainan province.

The panel also mentioned the clarity with which the school has identified its distinctiveness and the ability to communicate this message in a concise and clear manner. An example of this was the impressive ambition of the Agricultural and Forestry Economic programme.

Finally, the panel were impressed with the commitment and dedication of students, alumni and faculty to the school and to continuous improvement.
